The Märklin m83 (Märklin #60831) accessory decoder is actually a really good accessory decoder. There are, however, parts of the User's Manual that can be a bit confusing to the consumer. This article clears up a few of the problems that I had while trying to understand the decoder.

The Märklin Mobile Station 2 does not have a feature that allows you to set up multiple units (or double headers). If you are using DCC there is no worries, because it is dead easy to set up using the Programming on Main feature.

The Märklin Mobile Station 2 does not have an output for a programming track. Using a contact and some wiring you can easily create a programming track yourself. Check out how I did just that.
