One of the most powerful locomotives in Germany is the class 232. They were built by
Voroshilovgrad Locomotive works in the former Sovjet Union and delivered for the German State
Railway in the GDR. Today they are still in use in front of the heavy freight trains all around
Germany. Check out my review of the Trix model.

I recently went to one of the many second hand markets in Germany and found a model of a class
151. The model was from a start set and thus being cheap. I paid 89€ for it. Check out the
review.

Completely destroyed in an engine shed fire in Nuremburg in 2005 and rebuilt in 2011 from the
ground up. The story of the locomotive 01 150 is quite unique. Trix honours this particular
locomotive with a model of the prototype as it looks in 2011.

PIKOs Silberlinge are really great for modeling German regional operations on your layout. The
products is in the PIKO Expert product range and though they do lack some detail, they are still
very impressing when compared with similar products. Check out the review.
